Road safety on Ashfield Lane – some progress!
Residents regularly raise with us their concerns about speeding on Ashfield Lane causing a potential danger to other road users, pedestrians and wildlife.
You will recall we have conducted a number of Community Roadwatches there. We are now pleased to advise the Council has responded positively to measures that we believe could reduce the impact of speeding along this road. These include:
📍Installing an additional SLOW marking near house No. 28 on both directions.
📍Replacing the ‘junction-ahead’ warning sign outside house No. 28 (near the Heathfield Lane junction) with a new combined ‘junction ahead’ and ‘REDUCE SPEED NOW’ sign
📍Relocating the existing ‘Duck’ sign/post to a point opposite house No. 30. 🦆
📍Installing an additional ‘Duck’ sign on a post by the east flank wall of house No. 38 on approach to The Meadows junction from Heathfield Lane. 🦆
Officers will now add this proposal to their caseload. ‼️Please note implementation of the measures will be subject to funding.
We also have another idea that we are working on with Chislehurst Commons so watch this space!
