We were delighted to see so many residents attending the public meeting we held last night with the police and Bromley Council Trading Standards.
A huge thank you to Superintendent Luke Baldock for updating us on his priorities for Neighbourhood Policing for Bromley Borough and answering a wide range of residents’ questions.
Thank you too to Sgt Kelly Cooper for the work she and our Chislehurst Safer Neighbourhood Team of PC Nish Visayalingham, PC Lia Mercer & PCSO James Buckland do. You can email them on ChislehurstSNT@met.police.uk or call on 07920 233850.
Please remember they work shifts so there may be a delay in you getting a response.
The team holds a monthly pop in police surgery at Chislehurst Library. Dates are on our website and advertised at the Library.
One of the subjects that came up was the need to report all crime & suspicious behaviour. Don’t just share warnings on your street WhatsApp group (good though it is to alert neighbours), please do tell the police too! You can do this online or call 101 – see details in photos. If you don’t report they don’t know about it. Always call 999 for emergencies and if a crime is happening.
We also discussed the Chislehurst Ward Panel and are delighted that more residents are wishing to join and get involved. More on this soon.
Finally, Rob Vale reminded us that the scammers are very active indeed in our borough and in Chislehurst. Whilst they can prey on anyone, the elderly and vulnerable are particularly targeted. If you or somebody you know is affected by rogue traders or a scam get the advice, support and assistance you need by calling 07903 852090.
You can sign up for scam alerts here. Please do share them with your neighbours who don’t have email or the internet. https://www.bromley.gov.uk/ScamAlertSignUpForm
